DOOM Eternal lags in sound and/or video
If your sound or video in the game lags, it is possible you have an outdated sound/video card driver installed. Simply update the appropriate driver to resolve the problem of DOOM freezes. If you are still experiencing video lags, try turning on Vsync.
DOOM Eternal black screen
Don’t forget to update your video card drivers to the latest version. Nvidia, for example, has specifically released a separate driver to optimize gameplay in DOOM Eternal. If driver update did not help, then try to run the game in windowed mode and if there is no black screen – go back to full screen mode (alt+enter).
